Support C

PACLITAXEL RELEASING CORONARY BALLOON CATHETER

The Support C balloon catheter is a semi compliant biluminal polyamide DCB (Rapid Exchange technique). The distal lumen (length 27 cm) accommodates a 0.014’’ (0.36 mm) guide wire, whilst the second lumen is used to inflate/deflate the balloon. The distal part of the shaft has a hydrophilic coating, whilst the proximal part is coated with stainless steel and PTFE. Two radio opaque markers in platinum/iridium highlight the length of the balloon under fluoroscopy. Another two markers are positioned at 95 cm and 105 cm from the distal tip, to highlight the position of the system compared to the guide catheter. The balloon reaches its nominal diameter at a pressure of 7 bar. Catheter operating length is of 138 cm. Atraumatic tip. The entire length of the balloon is uniformly coated with Paclitaxel (transported by the BTHC) at a concentration of 3.0 µg/mm2. Paclitaxel remains within the tissue for several days once applied.

INDICATIONS

PTCA drug eluting balloon catheters are recommended for patients suffering from symptomatic ischaemic coronary heart disease to widen intrastent restenosis (ISR) with a vessel reference diameter of between 2.0 mm and 4.0 mm and simultaneous release of Paclitaxel into the vascular wall to prevent any further stenosis.

STERILISATION AND STORAGE
Sterilise with EO (ethylene oxide) gas. Single use. Do not sterilise again. Store at a temperature of between 5°C and 25°C. Protect from direct sunlight. Supplied in individual packs.
